Nyepi Day
Nyepi Day, also known as the Day of Silence, is a Hindu celebration primarily observed in Bali, Indonesia. It marks the Balinese New Year and is a day of fasting, meditation, and self-reflection. The entire island comes to a standstill as all activities are halted, and everyone is expected to stay indoors, keeping noise to a minimum. The day after Nyepi, known as Ngembak Geni, is a day for visiting family and friends, seeking forgiveness, and starting fresh for the new year. For tourists in Bali during Nyepi, it’s important to respect these customs and plan activities accordingly. Our villa accommodates guests by providing meals and quiet activities within the premises, but guests are expected to follow the rules of Nyepi and stay inside the grounds of the resort.
